Our Team
Dr. Reuben S. Maghembe
BSc, MSc, MSc, Ph.D., Postdoc
Founder and CEO
Consultant in Translational Genomics and Bioinformatics
Dr. Reuben Maghembe is an interdisciplinary molecular bio-scientist, currently an NIH-funded postdoctoral research fellow under the collaboration of University Virginia (U.S) and Kibong'oto Infectious Disease Hospital (KIDH) in Tanzania, employing multi-omics and bioinformatics approaches to dissect the interaction of tuberculosis and malnutrition. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biosciences from a SIDA-funded collaboration University of Dar es Salaam Swedish Universities (Lund, Uppsala and SLU). Dr. Maghembe holds two master's degrees, one in immunology and clinical microbiology from Makerere University in Uganda, and another in biochemistry from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania, after earning a bachelor's degree of science majoring biology and chemistry from University of Dar es salaam. For the past five years, he has built a reputation for publishing high-impact genomic research and advancing bioinformatics focusing on integrated genome mining and molecular docking for pathogen virulence analysis and drug discovery.
Dr. Abdalah Makaranga
BSc, MSc, Pre-PhD, PhD
Founder and Director of Translational Mult-omics Approaches
Consultant in multiple omics (transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics)
Dr. Abdalah Makaranga holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Biotechnology and a Pre-Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). He also earned a master's degree in molecular biology and biotechnology from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Tanzania. With extensive experience in academic and research institutions, Dr. Makaranga has received recognition including a research award from the National University of Singapore and fellowships from the Arturo Falaschi Fellowship Programme and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has authored numerous scientific articles in respected international journals. His research focuses on upstream and downstream omics, particularly in the development of high-value bioproducts and pharmaceuticals from microbial consortia.
Mr. Samweli Bahati
